Phoenix Motor is a developer of zero-emission, all-electric vehicles. They recently announced that the University of California San Diego will receive an upcoming delivery of four all-electric transit buses. The 35-foot electric buses will be deployed to decarbonize the last-mile transportation on campus and in surrounding neighborhoods.
Con Edison has just invested $9 million in the purchase of a fleet of 12 buses to be up and running by the next school year. This demonstration project for Brooklyn schools will also include solar panels on the top of each bus. First Student is the transportation and electrification provider.
St. Cloud, Minnesota, is the location of New Flyer of America’s headquarters and where the company will soon expand production of its hydrogen-powered buses. Earlier this week New Flyer announced their largest fuel cell bus order to date when San Mateo County Transit in California ordered 108 hydrogen buses.
Hyzon’s fuel cell electric vehicles (FCEVs) are the first hydrogen-powered refuse collection FCEVs available for trial in North America. They have entered into a purchase agreement for 12 hydrogen-powered refuse FCEVs with recycling company GreenWaste.
Electrify America has opened a new technology campus near Reston, Virginia. Their 32,000 square-foot facility includes 22 fast chargers and "is designed for advanced validation and stress testing of equipment and components in real-world conditions."
Voltera is a two-year-old company that exists to take on the challenges of developing, owning, and operating EV charging infrastructure. They are now expanding their electric semi-truck infrastructure network. The two new locations are in Sacramento, California, and in Wilmington, California, near the Ports of Long Beach and Los Angeles.
Multi-national automotive manufacturing company Stellantis is busy investing in cutting-edge EV aerodynamics. The company’s Dare Forward 2030 strategy includes a plan for expanding battery-electric vehicle offerings as well as improving aerodynamic efficiency.
The Joint Office of Energy and Transportation has reached 200,000 public charging ports throughout the country, putting them ahead of schedule to meet the Biden-Harris Administration’s goal of 500,000 chargers by 2030. Plug-in electric vehicles currently make up about 10% of the light-duty vehicle market in the U.S.
