South Pasadena, CA—neighboring city to CALSTART’s headquarters—is home to a fully electrified police fleet. The city has replaced its gasoline-powered vehicles with 20 new Teslas and a bank of 34 new electric vehicle chargers. The city expects to save $4,000 a year per vehicle.  

ABB was chosen by Washington State Ferries (WSF) as propulsion single source vendor for five new hybrid ferries. ABB will supply five comprehensive hybrid-electric propulsion systems as well as design and engineering support.   


Revolv is a leading full-service provider of electric commercial fleets and has announced that it received funding from the EnergIIZE (Energy Infrastructure Incentives for Zero-Emission Commercial Vehicles) Jump Start fund awards. Revolv offers full-service electric fleet solutions resulting in zero-emissions miles. Revolv managed the application and successfully secured funding for a customer in Orange County, CA, and another in Los Angeles County, CA.  

Isuzu's NRR-EV medium electric truck has earned 50-state approval. The vehicle has received certifications from the California Air Resources Board (CARB) and the Environmental Protection Agency. Securing the approvals means Isuzu has launched the sale of the NRR-EV across the United States.  


Kudos again to WattEV, which has announced a new partnership with MGA Entertainment, one of the world’s largest privately held toy and entertainment companies. WattEV will become MGA’s exclusive zero-emissions freight transporter for products imported through the Ports of Long Beach and Los Angeles. WattEV is a Truck-as-a-Service (TaaS) company.
