Electrada, in partnership with Daimler Truck Financial Services is announcing their official partnership to use Electrada’s 360 Charging-as-a-Service solution with Daimler’s battery electric vehicles. The Electrada offering allows fleets to electrify in a way that is customized to their specific use cases. Daimler Truck North America (DTNA) has announced investments at its headquarters on Swan Island. The company has a new electric vehicle (EV) supply equipment training center near Electric Island and a new engineering facility at its campus. The new training center will be used by DTNA’s dealers as well as for a resource center for community stakeholders interested in clean transportation.

Penske has announced that they will demo and sell a customized version of REE’s P7-C electric truck. Ree Automotive is a commercial EV technology developer and transportation provider Penske has signed on to help demonstrate Ree’s electric truck to its customers.  Isuzu is announcing an all-new zero-emission Isuzu class 6 & 7 truck using an Accelera by Cummins powertrain for both the United States and Canada. The new truck will support customers in achieving zero emissions and is expected to be available in the market by 2026. Amazon plans to be carbon neutral by 2040 and their latest move is the addition of 50 electric trucks to its delivery fleet in California. The trucks will be integrated into first-mile operations where goods are moved from container ships at ports to fulfillment centers. A portion of the trucks in service are electric delivery vans produced by Rivian. The fully electric Class 8 Volvo VNR Electric trucks will be used for first-, middle- and last-mile operations throughout California.

Hyzon and New Way Trucks are showcasing a hydrogen fuel-cell electric refuse truck at WasteExpo in Las Vegas. Iowa-based New Way Trucks is a refuse truck body manufacturer and Rochester, New York-based Hyzon is a hydrogen fuel cell technology developer. The truck will soon be tested on routes in California starting with Recology, a San Francisco-based solid waste and recycling collection and processing company. Battle Motors is a manufacturer of durable class 7 and 8 electric trucks for the severe-service vocational truck market. They, too, introduced their trucks at Waste Expo with a focus on their revamped, modernized digital interior. Their trucks have a digital dashboard that provides telematics data.

BP’s electric charging unit is eager to buy Tesla’s Supercharging sites in the United States with an eye toward expansion. They are pursuing real estate to scale their network. Earlier this month Tesla CEO Elon Musk fired most of the Tesla Supercharger team. As of yesterday, Tesla has hired back some of its Supercharger team which were laid off last month. BP plans to spend $1 billion by 2030 to install over 3,000 superchargers in the U.S. Los Angeles-based charging provider EVGO will begin the deployment of North American Charging Standard (NACS) connectors on its DC fast charging network this year. Their priority focus is markets with a lot of Tesla drivers. ABB is a technology leader that works closely with utilities, industry, transportation, and infrastructure customers. They have announced what they call the fastest, sleekest, and most durable EV charger. ABB E-mobility claims to have the world’s fastest EV charger and with the announcement of the A400 they are comparing their newest offering to the iPhone. With the A400 charger, ABB says their newest offering will work for a decade.
