CALSTART is out with a new report that tracks the deployment of electric school buses on a state-by-state basis. The report finds that as of September of last year, 1,738 electric school buses have been funded, ordered, delivered, and deployed across the U.S. CALSTART has launched an ongoing Electric School Bus Working Group to share information across school districts nationwide.

The City of Porterville, California is expanding its EV charging footprint in California’s San Joaquin Valley having recently rolled out EV Connects charging management system. The city is taking advantage of the platform to get real time charger and vehicle data as well as energy management solutions.

Ford Pro has announced the launch of Ford Pro Charging, a business within Ford that provides commercial EV charging solutions. The platform provides software and commercial hardware infrastructure to support charging and energy management.

Proterra has announced a supply agreement to provide battery technology to Nikola Tre trucks. The two have a multi-year supply agreement. Nikola has an all-electric Tre Class 8 truck. Proterra is an EV technology developer focusing on the commercial segment, particularly proprietary platforms powered by its own battery systems.

With funding from the Department of Energy (DOE), Ricardo is poised to advance the next generation electric class 8 trucks. In partnership with government, academia and private industry, the goal is to have a dual axle truck in demonstration within 12 months in the Port of Long Beach.

Are you looking for a zero-emission camping experience? If so, Winnebago’s e-RV electric camper may be the ticket. The company recently unveiled the camper van concept at the Florida RV SuperShow. The concept uses the existing Ford Transit base vehicle but uses an electric motor and battery pack instead of a gasoline powertrain.

Michigan-based startup Bollinger is pausing work on its innovative B2 pickup and B1 SUV and instead will focus on its burgeoning commercial delivery van business. Bollinger is looking for a company to partner with on manufacturing the vehicles. The last mile delivery market is expected to grow substantially in upcoming years.

Mark your calendar for the week of March 8-11, 2022, which is when Work Truck Week launches in Indianapolis. Electric vehicles are the focus and Bollinger Motors along with Sea Electric, Workhorse Group, Allison Transmission, EAVX, Freightliner, Green Power, Kenworth, The Lion Electric, Motiv, Peterbilt and XL Fleet among many others are participating. The gathering is hosted by AlphaStruxure, an energy as a service provider for commercial, industrial, government and infrastructure clients.
