A CALSTART member-only webinar in roundtable format providing an overview of the North American Charging Standard (NACS) and status of the SAE J3400 standards process; and inviting discussion on major themes related to industry adoption, acceptance, and concerns about the NACS connector.
June 2023 marked a turning point with major automakers announcing a shift to adopting the North American Charging Standard (NACS), with timelines starting as early as 2024. Since then, more automakers and EV service providers have announced plans to adopt NACS, and SAE took up the effort to start the official standards process, terming it J3400. Cost, reliability, and the breadth of the Tesla supercharger network are factors being considered as the industry looks to what a national rollout of broadly accessible EV charging looks like. States and grant program administrators are looking to where the industry is heading and what the market is poised to adopt in designing rules and voucher incentive programs.
This CALSTART member-only roundtable will provide a brief overview of the status of the North American Charging Standard and the current landscape and focus discussion on major themes related to this new standard. Members are invited to provide their thoughts/concerns privately ahead of time and then join the live discussion.
