Mountain Transit (MT) operates 25 buses in the San Bernardino mountain communities, out of two operating bases located in Big Bear Lake and Crestline. Of the 25 buses, two minivans and two Transit vans for DAR service, two are 37' diesel freightliner buses for service from the mountains/to and from the City of San Bernardino, and 19 buses are 22' to 32.5' gasoline cutaways for local fixed route service. MT is in the process of creating a battery electric bus (BEB) implementation plan so as to meet the CARB Innovative Clean Transit (ICT) regulation. In addition, in the next three years we will be building new admin offices/maintenance facilities at both locations.
