The San Francisco Department of the Environment is creating a more livable city where the air we breathe is free from pollutants that impact human and environmental health. For decades, San Francisco has worked to reduce emissions in the energy and transportation sectors. Today, the world is on the cusp of a transportation electrification revolution, and we are well positioned to lead the way. Through grant-funded public/private projects and development of replicable policies, San Francisco is reinventing how we move goods and people using zero emission vehicles powered by renewable energy and supporting the reliable management of the power grid.
